i2i Systems Leads the Charge in 5G Innovation with Vodafone in Türkiye: A Milestone Collaboration for National and Global 5G Ecosystems
i2i Systems is proud to announce its continued collaboration with Vodafone in the development and testing of cutting-edge 5G core network solutions as part of their ambitious 5G implementation strategy in Türkiye. Vodafone, a leader in telecommunications innovation, has been at the forefront of 5G testing in Türkiye, and i2i Systems’ contributions have played a pivotal role in accelerating these advancements.
As part of Vodafone’s ongoing preparations for the launch of 5G technologies, i2i Systems has successfully integrated its 5G Core Network into Vodafone’s test environment. Over the past six months, Vodafone has rigorously tested i2i Systems’ 5G core network, enabling seamless interoperability with a variety of domestic and international suppliers. These tests have confirmed the capability of i2i Systems’ network to work harmoniously within a diverse supplier ecosystem, highlighting the robustness of domestic innovation in the context of global 5G deployment.
The significance of this achievement cannot be overstated. It represents a major step forward for the domestic technology ecosystem in Türkiye, as i2i Systems is not only playing a central role in the development of 5G infrastructure within the local market but is also positioning itself as a key player in the global telecommunications landscape. The successful interoperability of i2i Systems’ core network with international suppliers serves as a testament to the capabilities of domestic manufacturing and is expected to contribute to global exports of Türkiye’s 5G technology in the near future.
A Strategic Milestone for 5G in Türkiye
Vodafone’s focus on incorporating domestic solutions into its 5G infrastructure aligns with Türkiye’s long-term vision of building a self-sufficient, locally developed technology ecosystem. The completion of the interoperability tests over i2i Systems’ 5G Core Network is a key milestone, demonstrating how national companies can successfully integrate with global standards. This breakthrough enables Vodafone to further solidify its commitment to the domestic 5G ecosystem, contributing to economic growth and technological independence.
“We are very pleased with the results of this testing phase,” said Adem Özdemir, Head of Network Development at Vodafone Turkey. “The move toward 5G technology is an exciting evolution that will redefine the way we experience connectivity. With Open RAN and Core Network Virtualization becoming central to this transformation, the i2i Systems 5G Core Network has been a key partner in this journey. Our commitment to using open architecture and supporting national ecosystems is crucial for ensuring the future success of 5G. This collaboration with i2i Systems exemplifies how local companies can contribute to the global 5G effort, and we will continue to foster innovation in this space.”
Empowering the Future of Mobile Private Networks (MPN)
As part of this project, i2i Systems’ 5G Core Network is positioned to offer a range of advanced solutions for Mobile Private Networks (MPN). These networks provide secure, low-latency, and high-capacity communication within confined spaces, such as factories, campuses, and industrial environments, where optimal connectivity is critical for productivity and operational efficiency. The integration of i2i Systems’ solutions within Vodafone’s MPN offerings will unlock new opportunities for businesses to take advantage of private 5G networks, driving innovation in industries ranging from manufacturing to healthcare.
“The 5G Core Network developed by i2i Systems is a significant milestone in our ongoing partnership with Vodafone,” said Ayhan Kapusuz, CEO of i2i Systems. “This collaboration not only showcases the maturity and effectiveness of domestic technology but also sets the stage for the commercial expansion of our 5G solutions both in Türkiye and globally. By completing successful end-to-end tests at Vodafone’s laboratory, we have verified the interoperability of our 5G solutions with major international vendors. We believe that this achievement will play a pivotal role in the global commercialization of our core network systems, including applications for Mobile Private Networks. We are grateful for Vodafone’s support and look forward to the next phase of this journey.”
A Vision for a Global 5G Future
The UUYM5G (End-to-End Domestic and National 5G) Project, which began in 2018, continues to drive the national 5G ecosystem forward, with i2i Systems at the helm. The successful testing and integration of the 5G Core Network into Vodafone’s infrastructure is a clear demonstration of how national technology can compete on the global stage. As 5G becomes a transformative force across industries, the collaboration between i2i Systems and Vodafone is not only helping to shape Türkiye’s 5G future but is also positioning Türkiye as an exporter of 5G technologies to markets worldwide.
With the successful completion of these tests, Vodafone and i2i Systems are now poised to take the next step in the commercialization of these technologies, ensuring that Türkiye remains at the cutting edge of 5G development, while contributing to the global 5G ecosystem.
