Summary:
5G (RAN) Radio Access Network Engineer will be responsible on layer 2 and layer 3 protocols (RRC, SDAP, PDCP, RLC, MAC) and interfaces (Xn, Ng, F1, E1) of 5G gNB. All layer and interface protocols will be based on 3GPP and ORAN Alliance technical specifications. Configuration, management, and deployment of the 5G system will be expected from the RAN Engineer. Working model is 80% office, 20% remote and location is Teknopark Istanbul / Kurtkoy. 5G RAN Engineer will also be responsible on high level understanding 5G Air Interface, 5G Physical Layer (L1) and its interactions with Layer 2 (L2).
Reports To:
This position reports directly to the 5G RAN team leader and requires extensive collaboration with:
- 5G RAN Team members
- 5G Core Network AMF Team
- 5G gNB and UE Emulator Team
5G Radio Access Network System Engineer Responsibilities:
- Good understanding of 5G gNB Architecture
- Running and deployment of whole 5G gNB with its components
- Understanding the practical implementation of 3GPP 38XXX and ORAN specifications
- Deployment, configuration, and installation of a fully cloud 5G gNB (O-CU and O-DU)
- Capture and analysis of 5G RAN interface and protocols (Wireshark)
5G Radio Access Network System Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Electronics Engineering, Physics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent department (It is preferable that the language of instruction is English.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English to understand documents at technical level
- Ability to work well as part of a team as well as on individual projects
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Any of the following skills will be distinctive:
- C Programming Language
- 3+ years of experience in the field
- Basic knowledge of 4G/5G air interface and mobile communication
- Experienced on Linux
- Experienced on TCP/IP Networking
